Message from Samantha Headley: December 15, 2023

Dear Morse School Students and Families,

We had another wonderful week of learning and growing at the Morse School. Students have been busy and so have our staff! On Monday, our staff had the second round of Equity Circles – a chance for us to explore equity based conversations and professional development designed by our school-based Equity Team.

On today's Live Stream, we shared the video that the CPS media team developed to share our story for the Distinguished School honorPlease check it out here!

Family School Climate, Belonging and Barriers to Engagement Survey

As of December 14th, 89% of our families have completed the survey. We do not want to miss any voices! Please use this Survey Link or click the survey button to complete the anonymous 10-minute survey so that we can learn about what is going well and what we can improve on. The survey needs to be completed in one setting, but you can skip questions as long as you submit the survey at the end. The survey is also available in
Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Haitian Creole, and Spanish.  If you need any help, please reach out to Amy Diaz, family liaison, or Elaine Delaney, administrative assistant. The survey will now close on Friday, December 22nd (please note extension of window by one week).

School Spirit Week

The Morse Student Council has developed themes for each day next week. They are very excited about it and have shared the following ideas:
Monday, December 18:  Decades* day or wear blue day.
Tuesday, December 19:  Students dress like teachers and teachers dress like students or wear red day.
Wednesday, December 20:  Twin day. Find a friend and dress like them, or neon day.
Thursday, December 21:  Sportswear day or wear pink day.
Friday, December 22:  Fancy day with a special activity model walk down the hallway! Or wear black day with a spy pose.

Definition:
*Decades = different time periods. For example the 1990’s
