Message from Chad Leith: October 24, 2022

Dear Morse School Parents and Caregivers,

TheMorse Marathon weather was perfect for the 5th running of the Morse Marathon, last Thursday 10/20, and also for the Special Start “Mini-Marathon” on Friday 10/21. Students from every grade level and classroom participated in running the marathon route and enjoying some post-marathon line dancing. Many thanks to our staff, students, and parent supporters for helping to make this special community event a success (and to our Friends of Morse School parent organization for making sure that each student received a colorful bandana to keep as a marathon memento)!

International Festival & Potluck Celebration
Friday, November 4th | 6-8PM

The International Festival is another wonderful Morse School tradition. All families are invited to bring a dish to share - homemade or takeout - and stay for games, crafts, music, & a special performance in our Auditorium! All families are also invited to complete a “Family Flag,” using the blank flag which was sent home in your child’s backpack (please click here to read the family flag Instructions or to download an electronic version of the blank flag). If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about our International Festival & Potluck Celebration, please consider attending this Thursday’s monthly meeting of the Friends of Morse School (8:30-9:30PM | Zoom link here).

Tuesday Lunch Math Games (Gr. 3-5)
I am excited to share that Math Coach Liz Vincent and our Math Interventionists Nafeesha Moore and Ayelet Grunes have teamed up with the Friends of Morse and Cambridge Math Circle (CFC) to offer weekly, optional math games for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders during their regular Tuesday lunch blocks. CFC will set up at a table in our Main Lobby and students who are interested will be invited to enjoy lunch while playing math games. If you would prefer your 3rd-5th grader not participate, please let me or Family Liaison Amy Diaz know!

Finally, to the many Morse School families who observe Diwali, my very best wishes for a safe and happy celebration!

Sincerely,
Principal Chad Leith
