Dear Morse School Parents & Caregivers,
I hope that you and your children enjoyed a wonderful April break. I’d like to offer my sincere appreciation to those who have reached out with kind words about my appointment to the role of Director of Professional Learning and Leadership. I am grateful for your support and look forward to making the most of my remaining months as your principal.
Many of you have asked me about the process for selecting a new school leader. Following the steps outlined in this
letter from Superintendent Greer, the position has been posted and the CPS Human Resources Department is currently gathering input from the community. (If you have not done so already, please share your thoughts by responding to this
survey.) Chief Talent Officer Corey Dotson and Director of Talent Acquisition and Management Rasheeda Abdul-Musawwir are planning to engage a representative group of staff members, parents, and caregivers to participate in interviews that will take place with qualified candidates on May 9th. Although I will not be formally involved in the process, I will certainly be on hand to ensure a smooth transition once a new principal has been appointed. Ms. Headley, Ms. Sundquist, and the rest of our leadership team will also remain in place to ensure continuity for your child.
Shout out to our 5th Graders!
With Earth Day behind us, I want to give a shout out to our 5th graders, who worked alongside Mayor Siddiqui and a team from
Elevate Youth to clean up Magazine Beach Park on Friday April 14th. Our 5th graders will be back in the spotlight this evening when they show off their dancing skills at the citywide
5th Grade Latin/Hip Hop Dance Showcase. The event will take place in the War Memorial Gym at CRLS. 5th graders should arrive by 5:15PM; The performance begins promptly at 6PM. Please

April is Poetry Month!
April is Poetry Month, and the
Cambridge Public Library is sponsoring its
24th Annual Youth Poetry Contest. Each year, some of our amazing Morse School students end up having their poems recognized and shared publicly. The contest is open to all students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 and submissions are due by
April 29th. I hope that you will encourage your child to submit a piece of poetry! Please
