Message from Chad Leith: October 17, 2022

Dear Morse School Parents and Caregivers,

Aztec SunsThe days are getting shorter, but our 2nd graders have brightened up the Main Lobby with these beautiful Aztec suns! During a recent unit with Ms. Kerr, 2nd graders from homerooms A1, C1 and C3 learned about the ancient Aztec Sun Stone. Students created their own Aztec suns through either metal tooling, stamping, or stenciling.

Gr. 3-5 Morning Clubs Clarification
Here is the correct weekly sequence for our Gr. 3-5 Morning Clubs, which meet before school from 8 - 8:25AM:

  • Tuesdays - Morse Morning Singers with Ms. Graeber (Auditorium)
  • Wednesdays - Computer Science Club with Ms. Lavalle (Library)
  • Thursdays - Intramural Soccer with Mr. F & Mr. B (Gym)

There is still time to sign your 3rd-5th grader up here!

5th Grade Clubs & Community Service
In an effort to tap into the voices and choices of our 5th graders, we have added something new to the 5th grade experience!

  • 5th Grade Clubs (which run from now through mid Nov.) include Newspaper, Origami, Animation, and Board Games, among other teacher- and student-suggested options.
  • Community service projects (running from mid-Nov. through Dec.) will include recess support for younger children, help with Library circulation, and outdoor landscaping.

5th Grade clubs and community service cycles take place on Mondays and will rotate throughout the year.
