From Principal Leith: April 12, 2021

Dear Members of the Morse School Community,

I hope that you enjoyed the beautiful spring weather on Saturday and that you and your family enjoyed the weekend. I am writing to alert you to two meetings scheduled to take place this week, and also to share an offer of support for in-person learners who are observing Ramadan.

Friends of Morse Meeting - Tomorrow (4/13) at 8:15PM
The Friends of Morse, which functions as our school’s parent/teacher organization, typically meets monthly to give Morse parents and caregivers a place to connect and be involved, plan community events, and discuss ideas for raising funds to better enrich every Morse School student's experience. The group’s first meeting of 2021 will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, April 13th, at 8:15PM. All parents, caregivers, and staff members are welcome to attend. To join, please register here. A meeting link will be sent the day of the meeting for security purposes. Whether you can join for 15 min or for the full discussion, your presence makes a difference!

Morse Race & Equity Working Group - Thursday (4/15) 6-7PM
At Thursday’s Race & Equity Working Group meeting, we will review student survey data disaggregated by students' racial and ethnic backgrounds and identify takeaways that might inform our equity improvement goals for the coming school year. All parents, caregivers, and staff members are warmly invited to participate. Please register to attend the meeting by completing this form. Thursday’s meeting will take place from 6:00-7:00pm, in order to avoid conflicting with the Cambridge Families of Asian Descent (CFAD) meeting, which has been scheduled on Thursday from 7:00-8:00pm. For more information about the Morse Race & Equity Working Group, and the other equity initiatives we are pursuing this year, please see the Race & Equity Page on our school website.

Ramadan Mubarak!
Today marks the beginning of Ramadan, a month-long observance celebrated by many Morse School families. If your child is learning in person and observing Ramadan this month, please let us know if you would like us to provide space for prayer and/or an alternate setting during lunch time.

Thank you and best wishes for a great start to your week!

Sincerely,

Principal Chad Leith
