Math Olympiads Ends Another Successful Year!

On June 9, the Morse Olympiads team hosted the First Annual Baldwin/Morse Math Jamboree. Seventeen Morse students and 8 Baldwin students in grades 3,4,and 5 participated. Students worked both individually and in collaborative teams to solve problems. They earned points for Accuracy, Collaboration and Perseverance. Thanks to the friends of Morse for providing pizza to all.

Morse Math Olympiads meets regularly throughout the year. Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 come together to work on problem solving strategies and participate in Math Olympiads Math contests that are taken by students around the world. Math Olympiads in an organization that promotes higher level mathematics and problem solving internationally. This year, over 50% of our participating Morse students scored in the top 50% of competitors and 25% of Morse students scored in the top 10%. We are proud of all that the students accomplished this year in Math Olympiads. And thanks to our amazing volunteers who helped make this possible: Gromek Smolen, dad of Halina and Lily; Grant Welstead, dad of Audrey and Nicholas; and Erin Artin and Mark Duggan, professional colleagues of Gromek. We look forward to welcoming a new group of Math Olympiad Mathletes next year.
