Morse Family Needs Your Help

On July 27, 2014, a nine Alarm fire broke out on Allston Street. The fire started in the early morning hours that Sunday. It started in the back of 159 Allston Street at about 3:20AM, and within minutes, swept through two nearby buildings at 151-155 Allston Street. It very quickly grew to a nine-alarm fire.

This fire displaced a Morse family. This family has been a member of the Morse community for quite sometime. There is a child here at the Morse currently and there are a couple of siblings (formerly at PAUS) now at CRLS. Like many renters, they did not have insurance to cover their loss of everything. They have finally settled into a new Cambridge apartment.

It was thought that we would wait until they were settled and see what they were still in need of and have the Morse community help contribute to that. The family are still trying to recover and still need may items. With the change of season upon all of us, they face the continuing difficulty of trying to recover. As they now need warmer clothes as well as cold weather household items.

Here are some simple ways that you can contribute if you want to help:

  • If you would like to contribute in a monetary way, we ask that you give a minimum of a $10 donation.
  • If you would like to purchase a gift card to donate, we ask that they be for either Kohl’s or Target only as the family can get most of what they need at either of these stores.

All donations should be given or addressed to Denise Sullivan on or before November 25, 2014.
