Welcome Back from the Morse School

Welcome Back from the Morse School
Posted on 09/01/2023

Dear Morse School Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! We have been working so hard to get our school ready to welcome our young scholars! Our educators are excited and very optimistic about the school year.

Celebrating our Morse Morning Singers
Morse SingersOn Tuesday, August 29th, all of the CPS staff came together for our opening day Colloquium at CRLS. We were honored to have our Morse Morning Singers, under the direction of Kelly Graeber, perform "Lift Every Voice" for nearly 1,500 educators! They were incredible and we are so proud of them. Please view their performance and enjoy our talented crew.

Student & Family Handbook

Before coming to school next week, we ask that all Morse School parents and caregivers carefully review the Student and Family Handbook. as It provides an overview of:

  • Arrival and dismissal procedures (including drop-off and pick up times and classroom specific locations)
  • Bus transportation
  • Meals, snacks, and recess
  • Protocols for keeping children and adults safe
  • Ways that parents and caregivers can get involved

Staff members will also review the handbook with students during the first week.

The Morse School Guidelines for Success
The Morse School will be your child's home away from home for the next 180 days and hopefully for their entire elementary career. We want it to be a warm, welcoming place where they feel a sense of belonging. At our school, we focus on four core values (Morse Code): Be Inclusive, Be Responsible, Be an Active Learner and Be Kind. Our educators will talk with students in the coming weeks about what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like when the Morse Code is alive and strong. Please take a moment to review our Morse School Guidelines for Success (aka the “Morse Code”), to help your child begin thinking about our school’s core values. Feel free to ask your child what our core values look and sound like at home and at the places they spend time outside of school!
