Dear Members of the Morse School Community,
We have enjoyed a wonderful week of events that have brought students, families, and staff members together. Pictured clockwise (from top left) below are photos of the wonderful performance by the Pasy Naay Leer Dance Company that capped off last Friday’s International Festival and Potluck Celebration (organized by parents Brian Funck, Sarah Hendren, and the Friends of Morse), Tuesday’s 4th Grade Poetry Jam (organized by Mr. Offley and his students), and last night’s Family Book Club (organized by our wonderful librarian Ms. Pennell). Stay tuned for more fabulous community events over the coming months!
Feathers & Photos
If you’ve been in our main lobby this week, you will have noticed the bulletin board featuring Tom Turkey reading challenge feathers. As a reminder, this year, all funds raised through the Tom Turkey reading challenge will be donated to provide daily breakfast to rural children enrolled in the Matènwa Community Learning Center, located on La Gonâve Island in Haiti. Every dollar we raise provides one meal for a child. Students have one more week to participate in the challenge and purchase their feathers! Also on display in our lobby, right next to Tom Turkey, is our Morse Family Tree, where we are posting photos of Morse School families as a way of providing a visual representation of the diversity of cultures and backgrounds we serve at the Morse School. There is still time to have your family’s photo added to the display by sending an electronic version to Ms. Sullivan ([email protected]).
My very best wishes for a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Chad Leith
