Message from Samantha Headley: June 7, 2024

Dear Morse School Staff and Families,  

 The first week of June has flown by. We cannot believe we only have nine days left with our students!
 

Fifth Graders

Our fifth graders have really been stepping out of their comfort zone with two recent city-wide performances and a team building field trip to Hale Education Center. Last week, as part of our physical education curriculum, fifth graders performed the Latin & Hip Hop dance routine they've learned with fifth graders across the district. Tuesday night, they also performed in an instrumental contest alongside fifth graders from other CPS schools. Today, they are enjoying a day in nature filled with activities like tight rope walking, fire making, and team games.

LGBTQIA+ Pride Month

• The Office of Equity, Inclusion & Belonging invites LGBTQIA+ members and allies of the CPS community to CPS’s 3rd annual Cambridge Community Pride Day at CRLS. There will be a LGBTQIA+ centered workshops for students in grades 6-12, activities for parents, caregivers, and younger children, including a drag king storytime.

  • When: This Friday, June 7 | 3:30 - 6PM

  • Where: Cambridge Rindge and Latin School Arts Building

  • Registration for Community Pride Day is encouraged, but not required.

• City of Cambridge's 35th Annual Pride Brunch

  • When: Saturday, June 8 | 9 - 11AM

  • Where: Cambridge City Hall (795 Massachusetts Avenue)

• Pride Month Events at the Cambridge Public Library

End of the School Year

If your child is leaving before the end of the school year or if you are not going to be returning next year, please be sure to notify your child's teacher and Elaine in the main office.
