On Thursday, October 19th, students and staff walked to the Central Square Branch of the Cambridge Public Library as part of the Focus on K: Unit One, “Community” curriculum. When children, teachers, and community members build relationships we have the foundation for a strong, interdependent community of learners, developing shared dispositions, language, and habits. B7/B8 Kindergarten students toured the library, listened to a story, and were able to receive a library card if they did not already have one. Thank you to Ms. Pennell, Ms. Connelly, and Ms. Bellino for helping to coordinate with the Cambridge Public Library System. JK and Kindergarten B6 and D6 will have the same opportunity to visit the library in the Spring!
