Haitian Folkloric Dance Residency

In celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, Morse school in collaboration with their Friends of Morse group, hosted a Haitian Folkloric Dance residency with Jean Appolon Expressions last week. Students enjoyed a dance performance from Jean Appolon Expressions and were able to ask questions and learn more about the dance style. The professional dancers then held workshops to teach the students traditional Haitian folkloric dance.
The goal of this residency was to uplift Haitian culture, instill love for dance and movement, and examine themes of liberation, healing and resiliency.
