Dear Morse School Community,

We did it! Thank you so much for your partnership in making the 2025-2026 school year a success. From CPP to our fifth graders, our students have grown significantly. We are quite proud of their academic and social emotional growth.

Friends of Morse & School Council
Many thanks to all families (because every family is a friend of Morse), especially our Friends of Morse Board members and our School Council members for supporting the values, goals and hopes for the Morse community. This year we are saying goodbye to several members of both teams and I want to share my deepest gratitude for their leadership and prioritizing the needs of our whole community when making decisions within their roles. The following members will be moving on:

  • Vanessa Azzone Dhanji, FMS Chair of Special Events

  • Andrew Miller, FMS Chair of Bake Sales

Friends of Morse just completed their elections and we'd like to congratulate and thank Angela Rougas (VP) and Chris Fort (Director of Finance). We look forward to partnering with you. We will have three open seats for Morse caregivers in the Fall. If interested, please let me know. Elections will take place in September.

Report Cards
Semester III report cards will be posted today in Parent Square just as they were for Semesters I and III. If you are having any trouble viewing your child's report card or accessing Parent Square, please reach out to me: sheadley@cpsd.us or Elaine at edelaney@cpsd.us. 

Class Lists
Although teachers have created draft class lists for next year, there are a lot of changes that can occur in the summer. Official class assignments will be shared via mail in mid to late August. 

CPS Summer Learning 2026
Summer is an important time for students to rest, play, explore, and enjoy time with family and friends. It is also an important time to continue learning in small, joyful, and meaningful ways.

We encourage all students to read, listen to stories, and/or write for at least 20 minutes each day, while also finding regular opportunities to practice the math concepts and skills they learned this year. These routines help students maintain their learning, build confidence, and return to school ready for a strong start in September. 

Curated, grade-specific resources and engaging activities to help students continue reading, writing, solving problems, creating, and building knowledge throughout the summer are included in this link for ELA (literacy), Math, Science, and Social Studies/History. Families can select activities that best fit their child’s interests, learning needs, and summer schedule.

Library Update

  • We currently have 94 books checked out and need them to be returned ASAP.
