Message from Samantha Headley: December 5, 2025
Dear Morse School Community,
I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving break! I was lucky to head to Toronto and spend it with my kids and parents. Our staff and students have been busy at work since returning. Many grade levels have welcomed caregivers into the classroom for the Celebrations of Learning. This opportunity has allowed students to share their academic growth and friendships within the classroom community. It has also provided a time for staff, students, and families to reflect on the learning journey of each child since the start of school.
Report Cards and Caregiver/Educator Conferences
Report cards will go home via Parent Square on December 8th as mentioned in this previous school communication and our Caregiver/Educator Conferences are quickly approaching. I want to encourage all families to take a few proactive steps to ensure your conference is as productive and meaningful as possible. The goal of these conferences is to work collaboratively to develop a shared plan for your child's growth. We look forward to hearing your insights and sharing observations so that we can collectively support your student's continued success in the classroom. Here are some ways to prepare for your conference:
-
Schedule a conference date/time with your child's teacher.
-
Complete the Pre-Conference Survey: We encourage all parents to complete the Caregiver Pre-Conference Survey that was previously sent out. This short survey helps the educator prepare and ensures your main questions and concerns are addressed during your meeting.
-
Review Your Child's Progress: Please review all recent work, progress reports, and the Report Card that will be sent home on December 8th. Having this information handy will allow you to ask specific, informed questions.
-
Talk to Your Child: Before your conference, ask your child about their school experience. What are they proud of? What do they find challenging? Their perspective can help guide your discussion with the teacher.
-
Prepare Key Questions: Jot down 2-3 main areas you want to discuss. Questions often focus on academic growth, social-emotional development, or strategies for supporting learning at home.
Morse Community Live Stream
In honor of the cold, wintery weather we've had this week, we have begun to put together a Winter Bucket List. Staff and students shared their ideas of what they would like to do this winter. Ideas ranged from winter sports to hot chocolate parties, game nights and making igloos.
