Message from Samantha Headley: December 12, 2025

Dear Morse School Community,

We have had a chilly but fantastic week at Morse! Almost all of our homerooms have had their first Celebration of Learning and we had a wonderful turn out of families. First graders will have their Celebration of Learning in January. In addition, yesterday evening the Office of Special Education hosted an Open Gym Night for Special Start families across the district right here at Morse. Families of our youngest learners got to meet each other, pick up learning resources, clothing, eat together, and have fun!  
 
Morse Community Live Stream
This morning at our weekly school-wide community event a few of our First Grade students read aloud the book, We Celebrate the Light by Jane Folen (available in our school library and part of the Grade 1 Communities, Identities, and Diversity curriculum). It weaves together the traditions of seven global winter holidays: Diwali, Solstice, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Bodhi Day, and Lunar New Year. These holidays share themes of light, love, food, and family. This resource illustrates that diverse traditions share common values and enriches our understanding of identity and community.

Morse Monday Afternoon Clubs
Our second session of afternoon clubs for grades 3-5 have been well attended! Please note that the remaining dates are: December 15th, January 12th, and January 26th. There will not be a Monday Club on December 22nd and students who attend the Morse Monday Clubs should follow their usual dismissal routines.
