Dear Morse School Community,
I'd like to begin by thanking our PE teachers, Mr. Fousek, Ms. Mae and Mr. Bloy for organizing another wonderful Morse Marathon. We are grateful for the many ways that families supported the event - through volunteering and cheering; donations, and most importantly, by helping your children get a good night's sleep on Monday, having their sneakers ready and encouraging them to try their best! We enjoyed a fun reel of the event on our Live Stream today.
National School Lunch Week
We are so lucky to have such fresh, diverse and yummy food in CPS! This week I spent some extra time in the cafeteria serving up some lunches and checking out the preparation our staff does in advance to ensure healthy meals. Chef Donna was baking some seasoned bread to make the breadcrumbs for the hand breaded Halal chicken bites coming up soon on the October menu. Yesterday, we enjoyed Ethiopian Halal chicken or tofu, Jollof rice and veggies. Make sure to review the menu with your child(ren) and encourage them to try something new on the menu!
Coach of the Year!
We have always felt fortunate to have Phil Fousek as our full-time PE teacher. In addition to mentoring our students, supporting their physical health and building their collaboration skills, he has also introduced different programs and events to our community such as our Morning Cricket Club last year, our Morse Marathon and soccer skills clinics to mention just a few. But, now we have even more reason to celebrate Mr. Fousek!
Mr. F was the CRLS Boys Soccer Coach and is being recognized as last year's MIAA Soccer Coach of the Year! He has over 20 years of experience coaching in the Boys Soccer Program and as the Boys Varsity Coach. He knows how to motivate our youth, hold students to high expectations and put teamwork above all else. Woohoo Coach Fousek!
