Monday Clubs for Grades 3-5

Please don't forget to sign up for Clubs! We are going to be able to offer five rounds of clubs this year and the first round will begin on October 19th. Snacks will be provided and there is a late bus available for students who live more than a mile from Morse. If your child is interested and can commit to all the dates, please complete this form by noon on Wednesday, October 15th. We will confirm with families by October 17th.

Staff Professional Learning

This week our staff continued thinking about how to strengthen family engagement through building partnerships with families. We focused on reimagining the Term 1 and Term 2 parent/caregiver conferences so that they can serve as an opportunity to help you know how your child is performing with the grade level standards, ways you can support your child at home with their learning goals and also a chance for you to share knowledge about your child with teachers. Our School Council will also be exploring topic this in our next meeting.

Livestream

During this week's Morse LiveStream, we highlighted the Harvest Moon Festival which is often a community cultural event celebrating harvest, family, and giving thanks. Thank you to Izzy in B7 and Henry in E6 for teaching us about the importance of mooncakes and how this year’s Harvest Moon was a supermoon, meaning it appeared larger and brighter than a typical full moon.

Another segment featured ways to  prepare for our community-wide Morse Marathon.  It was exciting to hear from students about all the enthusiasm for this annual event and some personal goals.  We look forward to fostering friendships, creating a sense of belonging, and building community on Thursday, October 16th!
