Dear Morse School Community,
Happy Friday! We were so thrilled to have a couple warmer days this week and with Daylight Savings, we are looking forward to more time to be outdoors in the sunshine! Here's a quick recap of our week at Morse.
Star Lab

Our first and fifth graders had a little field trip right here at school on Monday. Students were able to experience the Star Lab in the auditorium. The CPS Science Department developed this traveling planetarium which allows students to see a night sky full of stars. First grade students were able to identify constellations in the sky. In addition to constellations, fifth graders talked about axial tilt, seasons, what causes day and night, and why the sun appears higher in the sky during summer time. This was a wonderful connection to the fifth grade Astronomy Unit and the first grade CKLA Astronomy knowledge unit.
Youth Resource Officer

As you know, Officer Ortiz retired in December and the Cambridge Police Department went through a hiring process shortly after. We are thrilled to welcome Officer Karen Costa as our new CPD Youth Resource Officer! She will work with Morse and Amigos. Officer Costa stopped by to share a little about herself and we got to share this quick chat on our Live Stream this morning. Please check it out to learn a little more about her!
Read Across America Week
We had a successful Read Across America Week. Thank you to the Morse Literacy Team for all of their hard work to uplift the importance of reading. Check out this exciting video that really captures the heart of our diverse Morse Community of readers.
