Dear Morse School Community,
Happy June! We are in our final weeks of school and while we are still growing our brains and focused on academics, we are also learning outside of the classroom! Take a look at some fun ways our students have been learning and growing.
CPP Field Day
This morning we had our annual preschool Field Day and we couldn't have asked for better weather! Students in our five CPP classrooms enjoyed different physical activities led by our staff and caregiver volunteers. Thank you to our PE teachers, Mr. B and Mr. F as well as our Occupational Therapist, Stephanie Fletcher and Physical Therapist, Trish Wong for organizing and preparing our students for such a fun morning. As part of our inclusive core value, Ms. Trish and Ms. Stephanie were able to provide adaptive activities so that all students could access Field Day stations.

Graduation
It is Graduation Season and we are so proud of the CRLS graduates especially the children of Ms. Diaz, our Family Liaison and Liz Stapleton, one of our K teachers as well as our many Morse Alumni who graduated yesterday. We love having our former students visit and let us know about their future plans. Here is a picture of Lily Smolen who is off to University of Toronto to study Molecular Biology and Biological Chemistry and Cece Walsh who will attend Wesleyan University to study International Relations. Congratulations!

Pride Month
Later today, Cambridge will be holding its own Community Pride Event. It will be from 3:30-6PM at the CRLS Arts Building. There will be performances, food, books, and other giveaways. The City of Cambridge is also hosting a Family Pride Event on Sunday, June 8th at City Hall from 11AM - 2PM! Yay for all the Pride Month activities!
Girls on the Run
We are happy to share that we will be having a fall Girls on the Run session. It will run from mid-September to mid-November and will culminate with a 5K on November 16th! If you have a child that identifies as a girl and in September will be in grades 3-5 or if you would like to be a Girls on the Run caregiver facilitator, please show interest using this form. The official registration will take place closer to the start of the fall session.

Field Trips
Our staff has been taking the learning outside of the Morse School! Real-world experiences can offer deeper engagement with curriculum, cultural growth and opportunities for students to build their critical thinking and collaborative skills. This year, our Preschool - Grade 5 students have been able to participate in a variety of field trips. Just in the past several weeks, students in CPP attended a Drum Call Performance, Kindergarten classes visited Cambridge City Hall to view the “Our Cambridge Projects”, Grade 2 went to The Robo Hub, Grade 3 students visited the MA State House, and Grade 4 classes went to MIT to build quizboards. In the coming weeks our 5th Graders will spend the day at Hale Education Center and Grade 1 classes will go to the Harvard Museum of Natural History.
