Students in second and third grade celebrated the 20th anniversary of Read Across America Day by reading Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss. Classes spent time enjoying the silliness of Seuss' illustrations and language while also appreciating the powerful message found within the book: "a person's a person no matter how small". Some third graders even tested out their cooking skills in honor of this special day and made their own green eggs and ham! Fourth and fifth grade students read Horton Hatches an Egg and discussed the ideas of faithfulness and morality found within this book.
