During the last week in July, Cambridge middle schoolers enrolled in the CitySprouts Summer Internship Program invited the community into their school gardens for a series of Garden Expos. At these expos, the young interns showed off the incredible work they've been doing in the school garden: growing their own food, cooking delicious meals for themselves, and exploring the science of the garden in a hands-on way. The kids took command of these events, teaching the adults the right way to chop vegetables, turn compost, and take care of growing crops. More than 40 guests came to see the Cambridge middle schoolers at four separate school gardens, and they all left deeply impressed by what the interns had accomplished in just four short weeks.
