Poetic Stars are Born!

On April 10, 2014, fourth grade students hosted the 6th annual Fourth Grade Poetry Show. The Poetry Show is an extension of the 4th grade’s classroom literacy program. In the weeks leading up to the Poetry Show, different mini-lessons were taught each week. These lessons taught students to understand how to break up their poems, articulate, speak with proper rate and voice level, and incorporate dramatization in order to bring their poems to life. Poems performed in this show were selected and choreographed by the 4th graders themselves.
